Expo Guadalajara, IAEC XI International Congress Seat

Expo Guadalajara is the Mexico’s more important exhibitions center and the biggest in all Latin America, it’s has 5 lobbies with a total of more than 5,000 square meters that are dedicate to the rent of space and sale of complementary services for the exhibitions support. It has appropriate and excellent facilities so that the exhibitors can show their products and/or services, being a connection between buyers and salesmen.

Expo Guadalajara initiates its construction sites in 1985 and opened in 1987 with Expo Furniture, and event organized by the Jalisco Furniture Manufacturers Association. Since 1989 Expo Guadalajara has been multiple extensions and where extended the great exhibitions hall; in 1992 constructs an upper parking, installing elevators and electrical stairs, and initiated the operation of lobby II. In 1996 it acquires 26,000 square meters of adjacent land for an important expansion. The fifth of March of 1999 began the extension and in September of 2000 the great work is inaugurated; and which today is the Latin America greater Exhibitions and Conventions Center.

In 2005 the “New Expo Forum” was put into operation, winch is considered one of most modern and innovating concepts, constructed with high tech, put it like a worthy scene for artistic and cultural manifestations. This it is a versatile space for the accomplishment of musical, cultural and social events, as well as congresses and conventions. It has 3,200 square meters of surface and can lodge up to 2,100 seated people and 3,500 standing up. It’s built with a great membrane of up to 20 meters of height, and manufactured with translucent and uninflammable Teflon.

The Hall Events is an ideal space for fairs and exhibitions. It has a 35,000 square meters of exhibition surface and one vertical clearance of 7.5 meters; it has conditioned air in all the extension and it’s possible to organize up to 6 events simultaneously.

For 2006 year in the Expo Guadalajara facilities took place 70 events which reunited 11,705 exhibitors, having an attendance of 1’361,141 people.

For the 2007 year Guadalajara will be host of more than 300 national and international great events, standing out, for example, the following events organized until the month of August: XIV Social Service National Congress “Social Policies and Local Development”; 2007 International Family Congress; II Latin American Fairs Congress; IX International Medicine Advances Congress; 3° Integrative Medicine World-wide Congress; and 2007 International Gastronomical Fair.

And from September to December of the same year will take place the following events, among others: 2007 International Arts Festival; European Picture Festival; XVIII Latin American Crafts, Antiques, Gift and Decoration Exhibition; 2007 International Book Fair; and Guadalajara 2007 Rock Show.

As we can see Guadalajara is a city with a great dynamism and capacity to organize events of great magnitude of any type. The XI IAEC Congress will be the great introduction for the celebration of the Pan-American Games in our city, and the better occasion to raise the world-wide importance of the sport in a as sport city as Guadalajara.
